BirdRisk is a project by Proportione, LDA. We respect your privacy and only ever collect the personal data you choose to give us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.

01The BirdRisk app

The BirdRisk iOS app collects only what it needs to show you bird-strike risk:

BirdRisk shows bird-strike risk information only — it informs, it does not advise, and it is not a navigation or flight-safety system (see our Terms of Use).

02Website and waitlist

On the website we only collect personal information — such as your name, email address, phone number and IP address — when you voluntarily provide it, for example by joining the BirdRisk beta waitlist, where the only data we need is your email address. Waitlist emails are handled through our email provider Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), acting as a data processor on our behalf. We send no spam — only relevant updates — and every email includes an unsubscribe link. The website is a single static page; any cookies are used only to improve your experience and for site analysis — never to track you across sites or for advertising.

03How we use your information

We use information exclusively for the purposes expressed when it is collected: to provide and secure the app, to contact you about the beta and launch, to fix problems and improve the service, and to respond to your enquiries. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for the waitlist and analytics, and the performance of our contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) for your account and subscription. You can withdraw consent at any time.

04Sharing with third parties

We do not sell, rent or transfer your personal information. We share data only with trusted providers who help us operate the service — Apple (subscriptions), Google/Firebase (analytics and crash reporting), Brevo (waitlist email) and our hosting provider — each acting as a processor bound to keep your data confidential, or to comply with the law.

05Security and retention

We implement appropriate security measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure on-device storage of credentials. We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it — your account data while your account exists, your waitlist email until you unsubscribe — after which it is deleted.

06Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these — or to delete your account and its data — email us at hello@birdrisk.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — the CNPD in Portugal or the AEPD in Spain.

07Children

BirdRisk is intended for pilots and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

08Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised "last updated" date. By using BirdRisk, you accept this Privacy Policy.
